Alter Ego

In the process of my final Major, development of my project based on Identity it had venture into the topic of the Alter Ego. Intrigued by this i wanted to interpret my individual alter ego into my illustrations. many of these images can be seen in Illustration. Trying to search for my inner alter Ego i looked within myself to what other kinds of personalities I with held. Wanting to get in-depth with my research I had found this article giving an understanding of an Alter Ego.

My Alter Ego

Rolling With Homies- is some that is larger then life expressed with her own hair, always thinking that she can roll deep with the guys, not understanding how she could get court up. still a girly girl. she doesn't forget where she comes from, just unaware of the danger but her homies have always got her back.

Geek Freak- Always got his head in the books, he is unaware of life around him and enters the world of him.

Gold Digger- Out to rinse the men for there money, always thinking about number one not a care in the world to who she has to step on, not giving a shit about anyone. Taking pride in her beauty as it is her key seller. Some people caller her a slut but she likes to see herself as a promiscuous woman.

Vixen- you will probably see her up in the music videos, she is one of those people that are hard to seek so don't bother trying. tiger like she will get her claws into anything. there is a difference between her and the gold digger she knows her standers.

The Muscle Within- Large in size there is always a little man inside, you could say that he is insecure about hi appearance, but i would say that he has just got the buzz.

Idepenence- she doesn't need a man to do anything for her, what she wants she will get it herself. she came into this world by herself she is going to fend for herself. believing woman should have all equal right she will stand for what she believes in. u won't see her near a cooking stove, she going to be out in the world to get whats equal hers.

Grandmas Review on the 1950's

taking time out I wanted to get a review on the 1950's from some that had lived it and who else then know other my grandma.

who was the big celeb : Twiggy. bettles,

Fashion: Mary Quant, Carnebe street fashion.

style of living: Parafin heater for warmth, money - half-crown to punch the meter for gas to cook, mulple occupation in our house, uncle patrick had a three storey house and we all lived together, out side toilet, bath once a week - at the weekend otherwise we had a wash every night and morning,

walk to bus stop, took the bus to work everyday. no overtime, the gorernment did not allow any one to hold two jobs, it was illegal.

Mothers stayed home and look after their children.Women had few rights; it was taken for grantef that you stayed home to care for your children. milk was delivered to the door step every day for the children until the child went to school. The house was cold every day, we had to comenhome to make the coal fire, if not the parafin heater for warmth.

Married women could not get their children into nujrsery, that was for unmarried. I could not get a christmas card for my father every thing was for couples. when we went to apply for a mortgage for our first house, my salary was not counted, so if the man was not earning enough he could not get a mortgage.

putting in all kind of social programmeswas all killed off by the war and they need workers, so we were allowed to come to england. 10 jobs to one person, they were good times

Chez verses the russian was at war and they were recruting young men to go to fight. Britian was in Egypt fighting Pred. Nasser for the occupation of the Suez cannal so there was a lot of political thing going on.

Anirian Bevan was P.M. putting in all sorts of social programmes for the people

women colud only work while pregant- until the 36 weeks, she was forced to stay home after that if she worked and got unjured, the employer would be held liable. women was paid 10 weeks after leaving work, give money to purchase a pram and clothes for the baby.

Suger Ray Robinson

May 3rd 1921- April 12 1989 coming form Black Bottom in detroit, his birth given name was Walker smith Jr. later been given his fame name as Sugar Ray Robinson. Being brought up around poverty and his parents divorced at a young age. moving to new york with his mum and two sisters he took up tap lessons, teaching him about balance and timing and would prove later in his career.

Being invited by a classmate, they took him to his uncles gym, he Salem-Crescent Athletic Club situated in the basement of the local Salem Methodist Church.Introduced to George Gainford who would train Sugar Ray through out his career. Turning professional at the age of 19 in 1940, by 1951 had a professional record of 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts. Standing as a welterweight and middleweight, he held this title from1946 to 1951 and won the middleweight in later on that year, retiring in 1952 coming back a year later to hold another title.He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.

Robinson was named the greatest fighter of the 20th century by the Associated Press, and the greatest boxer in history by ESPN.com in 2007.The Ring magazine rated him the best pound for pound boxer of all-time in 1997, and its "Fighter of the Decade" for the 1950s. Muhammad Ali, who repeatedly called himself "The Greatest" throughout his career, ranked Robinson as the greatest boxer of all time. Other Hall of Fame boxers such as Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Leonard said the same.Known for his flamboyant lifestyle outside the ring, he attempted a career in entertainer but struggled and lived on until his death in 1989

Josephine Baker

June 3, 1906 – April 12, an American entertainer and actress, she had move to France and became a french citizen in 1937. Most known as a singer she would perform exotic dance barley wearing and clothes in such pictures you can see, been giving the nicknames 'Black Venus', 'Black Pearl' and 'Creole Goddess'. France she has always been known as "La Baker", being one of the first black performer.

Yma Sumac

September 13, 1922 – November 1, 2008 was a Peruvian Soprano.Very much a classic beauty she was one of the famous proponents becoming an international success. Having a extreme vocal range some say she could claim five octaves. In my interest of the 1950's era, doing my research I came across Yma Sumac not knowing that she was the creator for the sound of the 'Mambo'. Eye closed with you ears dedicated to the sounds of her voice, takes you on a journey some where else.

Naja Conrad-Hansen

The images that are created from Naja Conrad-Hansen are very strong,very much directed in the field of fashion illustration, there is a blend of different drawing qualities also introducing type. I love the way she has capture the facial features to be very dark and mysterious limiting herself to colour.

Seeing this images had inspired me to get some metallic pens and I think that I have an afro obsession, which drew me to these images.

Hs anyone seen this???? I was down Brick Lane on my way to Atlantic's and i found this image of this Massive Bird on the side of the building it looks amazing. It looks better in life but if your in the area check it out.

I have always loved his photography in his crazed way the concept of these image display a dramatic scene. He work underlines as something that has never been done before, will to push the boundaries and innovative. Other ideas that have developed in his work is taking historical event and making it commercial such as this image with Courtney Love which a appears to be Kurt Cobain posed as Christ, show Cobain influence has the quality or similarity as christ.

The Nut Too Strong to Crack Collection by Georgia Nash

Part of The Nut Too Strong to Crack collection by GEORGIA NASH each model representing a different character from the Nutcracker production. Not following a specific style but being influenced by the 1950's focused towards shape, there is resemblance towards this collection. Drawn to this image the oversize jacket is very striking with duplicated layers, the break up between over weight coat and light body suit gives the dramatic element. This collection was in creation to her degree BA Fashion degree show.
